National Filters is located on the eastern side of the "Thumb" of Michigan (the "sunrise side") on the shore of Lake Huron, the city of Harbor Beach boasts the world's largest freshwater, man-made harbor, and frequently lures travelers and vacationers onto its secluded shore to take advantage of tremendous fishing, beaches, trails, camping, and breathtaking lighthouse views. National Filters, a manufacturer of filter assemblies and replacement filter cartridges, is strategically located in this rather isolated spot since it also happens to be central to all of the manufacturing centers in the Midwest. Arnold Leese, founder and president, began operations in 1985 with only one employee in a 600 square foot space. During the company's first 15 years of business, NFI managed to grow steadily to 8 employees and increase our share of the replacement filter industry by gradually expanding our filter product line through the 1990's, moving into hydraulic filters, process filters, and air filters. Today, NFI is a mulit-million dollar operation with hundreds OEM and manufacturing customers all over the globe.
